About the artist
Taylor Brown specializes in biomedical illustration and visualization, with particular interests in interactive development and emergent technology. During her time at UIC, Taylor has created visuals for surgeons in the UI Health clinics, the Learning Center at the Field Museum, and general patient and medical student education. She especially enjoys 3D modeling projects and development in Unity, and appreciates subject matter that allows for both creative and technical problem-solving. She passionately believes in the power of strong visuals for promoting the accessibility of science.
Taylor completed her bachelor’s degree in Biological and Pre-Medical Illustration (Iowa State University, 2017) and then spent an interim period freelancing and producing work for local museums. She then attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she completed her Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization in May 2020.
Taylor now resides in Salt Lake City, Utah with her partner, cat, and three tree frogs. In her free time she enjoys scaling mountains (and other rocks of various sizes), exploring the backcountry on foot or skis, and painting too many walls green.
